Venkat,

I could not agree with you more!! There is more printers being sold and if you ever see the ink section at the office supplie stores, the printer companies must be making a fortune. That goes ditto for the paper manufacturers whose 500 sheet reams are flying off the shelves.

I think this is the time we should be investing in mobile paper shredding businesses!

Thanks for the post and come back to visit and tell your friends....

So why did he not try to do away with paper but instead chose to print his book "Business at the Speed of Thought" in the old fashioned way.

I have been hearing this paperless thing for a long time and truth be told we are using more paper than ever, especially in printing out things.

Jeff,

How right you are! The large corporations now seldom have your interests at heart. I found that out when, in the 1980's I worked for a large insurance company for 8 years until they ran into several years of large underwriting losses related to natural disasters and a large pool of high risk customers. Because of their policies and choices, they lost big time and figured time to "lose" employees. That was my first taste of that scene. I vowed never to work for a large corporation again.

I congratulate you on finding a better job with better promotional possibilities!! Work hard and work smart.

I left Motorola in 2000 before they started laying off. I knew the company was bloated, and things were going to change. I bounced around a little bit, and ended up in a 40/hr a week job that pays the same as MOT, has better promotion possibilities, etc. MOT works their employees hard for the shareholders, and then has a big layoff when the profits aren't coming. This is the common story of publicly traded corporations. Why work for one?? Their benefits are dwindling as HR departments figure out how to retain workers without full compensation, etc.
enough ranting.. haha.

Sheryl,

Keep you chin up. I was born a Midwest "boy" from Chicago Illinois and now reside in Arizona. Opportunity is everywhere, you just have to "make it happen." Don't forget, your present skills can be transfered over to other industries, a quite often overlooked thought!

Good luck,
Bruce

Thank you for your comments and insight. My job has been in jeopardy for the last three years. I was finally laid off one month before Christmas 2007. It is a full time job looking for a full time job in rural Missouri. I am looking at other professions, but I will still have to take a huge pay cut even though I have been working in my profession for twenty-two years. Thanks for your advice and encouragement.
