With the big recession here and the work casualties it has spawned, there is a one bright lining in all of this news. “What goes down must come up.” What that means is that we, as workaholics should focus on the recovery and not wallow in the current depths of despair.
I am hearing stories of people making big money and big business connections right now. These are the workaholics who are not letting bad news bother them. They are actually going out and doing something productive everyday from now on. I think that is the best thing to do now….it is the same discussion I had on the post on pre-eminence. We must forge ahead and stay ahead of everyone else in order to be competitive once the economy recovers.
Why do we work? To earn a decent wage (money) so we can build our “nest” egg or build our money chest for future investments. Well, this is where we should be, thinking, plotting and implementing ways to get there.
For some months ago, I was in “wait and see” mode. Now I am in “look to the future” mode with definite plans and actions I am taking now to embrace the future. Just think, it may be only 2 years from now and we will have forgotten all this financial mess we’re in and practically laughing about it because everything got peachy keen.
Do something, anything to make your future materialize into something that you prepared for. You will find that we have the best opportunities in the worst of times.
Peace and Love,
Bruce
