During this time of our American holiday, Thanksgiving, we take the time to reflect on how blessed we really are. Us workaholics can be an intense bunch. But for all of our victories in achieving many worthwhile things while we work, there comes a time every now and then, that we run across good and true friends. That instance has happened to me this week. Yes, I had the turkey, yes I spent time with my family, yes I know the history of Thanksgiving and take the time to appreciate it, but catching up with friends from the past (see, I did not say “old” friends) is gold.
I had the pleasure of contacting someone from my elementary school days and it was a pleasure to reminisce. She was an honor student if I remember correctly. She was all that was wholesome in the days when school children were wholesome. I am very lucky on this Thanksgiving in that I get to reflect on the meaning of thanking the powers above for my blessed life, and I get another bonus to appreciate the finer things in life like communicating with past friendships. On this Thanksgiving holiday, take the time to contact a long lost friend and reconnect.
Our friendships our one of the best experiences we have to give life meaning….
Peace and Love,
Bruce
