New Day - New Blog

Hello everyone! I was excited to get this blog up and running in December, since I intended on doing it months ago! You know, the obvious answer is that, “I was too busy to get to it!” Sound familiar?? Well, I dedicate this blog to all of us who just can’t seem to successfully juggle the day to day “operational” things because we are so deeply engaged in “work.”

What is “work?” Webster’s New World Dictionary (pick any edition) describes work as: “work exerted to do or make something..labor, toil., 2) occupation, employment., 3) something one is making or doing.”

Well, I pick #3 where I am making something here that is worthwhile! It has been my secret dream since my elementary school days, that someday I would be a published author. It wasn’t going to be “War and Peace,” or “Gone with the Wind” but not “the Complete Compendium of the Universe” either! It would be something I know my mother would be proud of. She knew, from day one, that I was someone special, as all mothers tell their friends and family. Well, mom, I am making you proud here!

For you first time readers of this blog, I say hello, and congratulations to you for discovering this blog that deals with all of us who, for some reason, that jumps into work and thinks about it all day and night. We think about work to the point where we get “absent minded” about the most basic of things: put on different colored socks before leaving for work, forget to comb the hair, get a mental block when asked for the location of a critcal proposal that could make or break profit for your company, etc. You get the idea! This blog is for all of us who share the same experiences that make us wonder if we have a severe case of AADD (adult attention deficit disorder).

I promise, in future posts, that I will dig up the best in how to handle our dilemna with pride! I fashion myself to be a happy AADD’r. I love my work. I am self employed. Have been for over 10 years now and never looked back. I have a bounce in my step and a smile on my face every single day since I left the “corporate” world.

In the meantime, tell me your best stories, funny or not about how you became to be labeled as a “workaholic.”

Peace and Love,
Bruce
